The Lord's Supper

The Lord's Supper is an ordinance of Christ given exclusively for His people. The sacrament is to be observed in remembrance of Him, showing forth His death until He comes again. The inestimable benefits to the believer are: strength against sin; support under trouble; encouragement and enlivening for Christian duty; inspiring love and zeal; increasing faith; increasing holy resolution; peace of conscience; and assuring hope of eternal life.

By this celebration be reminded, Christian Believer, of the grace of God in Jesus Christ, set forth in this sacrament and of your obligation to belong fully to the Lord. Be exhorted to walk worthy of your calling in Christ. As you have professed Jesus Christ as your Lord, be careful to walk in His ways, and maintain good works as you have been called.

Those abstaining from the table be advised a true believer should refuse the table only under grave circumstances and with serious self-examination. Whatever keeps you from the table should be resolved before the throne of grace, and, if applicable, resolved with the offended brother or sister in Christ. This should be done with a resolve to genuine repentance anticipating participation the next time the Supper is offered.

Be warned, if you have not publicly professed Christ as Savior and surrendered to Him as Lord, should not participate. But you should seriously consider the danger of standing before a Holy God in your state of sin and condemnation. You must seek His forgiveness and be reconciled to Him through the work of Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. All refusing the Lordship of Christ are commanded by the authority of God's Holy Word to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ that you might be saved.

Where there is doubt at this time we direct you to refrain, and strongly urge you to consult our pastors or elders as soon as possible.
